ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Robson hotel is a landmark new modular hotel development rising in the heart of Jasper. Following the tragic loss of the original hotel during the devastating 2024 wildfires, the project is an important rebuild in the heart of the Canadian Rockies.

Designed by HSEA Architects, the hotel showcases an innovative hybrid approach to Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), combining precast construction with volumetric modular building systems. A total of 72 fully completed modules manufactured at the ROC Modular facility in Bow Island, Alberta, before being transported to site for installation. This approach significantly reduces on-site disruption within the sensitive mountain parks environment while also easing pressure on local trade availability during Jasper’s ongoing wildfire recovery efforts.

The new hotel has been thoughtfully designed to reflect the character of the mountain community while introducing a modern architectural facade. The development includes staff housing and service areas within the basement level, guest accommodations on Levels 1 through 3, and a central core featuring reception, gathering, and dining spaces. Positioned prominently as you enter the Town of Jasper, the Robson Hotel is set to become a defining landmark for visitors entering the town for years to come.

For the client, Vantage Hotels, the project is about rebuilding with care, clarity, and a deep connection to the people, place, and history of both the Mount Robson Inn and Jasper. More than simply replacing what was lost, the new development represents a commitment to shaping a thoughtful next chapter for guests, staff, and the broader community. ROC Modular is proud to play a role in this important rebuild effort.
