Alberta-based modular builder recognized for excellence in modular design and construction and volunteer leadership
ROC Modular capped off an outstanding week at the 2026 World of Modular (WOM2026) conference by earning two prestigious Awards. This brings the company’s total to nine awards over the past three years.

The awards were accepted by Joe Kiss on behalf of the ROC team at the Awards of Distinction Reception, held at the Bellagio in Las Vegas as part of the annual Modular Building Institute gathering.
Permanent Dormitory Category – Honourable Mention

ROC received an Honourable Mention in the Permanent Dormitory category for the Camp Chief Hector Bunkhouse Project, completed in partnership with Buttcon and LOLA Architecture. The project reflects ROC’s continued commitment to delivering quality permanent modular construction in complex, community-focused applications.

MBI Volunteer of the Year
#ROCStar, Rhys Kane was named MBI Volunteer of the Year. This is a remarkable achievement made all the more notable by the fact that it marks the second consecutive year a ROC team member has received this honour. The award recognizes outstanding dedication and contribution to the broader modular construction industry.
“Our ROCstars make it happen, I am privileged and proud to work with our amazing team” said Joe Kiss, President & CEO of ROC.
Also at the World of Modular event, Joe Kiss was elected as the Chair of the MBI (Modular Building Institute) Canadian Council. Joe continues his leadership and tireless work to help grow the modular industry in Canada.
With nine awards earned across three years, ROC Modular continues to establish itself as one of Canada’s leading voices in modular construction. The company expressed gratitude to the Modular Building Institute for hosting another outstanding event and convening the best in the industry.
